While there is really good golf, both public and private, around Detroit and Grand Rapids, it is northern Michigan that is the best place to stay and play for a wonderful vacation among the hardwoods and rolling hills.
Michigan's mitten is home to roughly 800 public courses, the most in the country. Michigan has a right to claim itself as 'America's Summer Golf Capital'.
